How to Clean Your Dishwasher in 2 Easy Steps

Cleaning your dishwasher seems like an oxymoron, but overtime soap residue, hard water and food particles build up inside your dishwasher and decrease the efficiency of your household appliance. Using Quick n Brite and this simple 2 step process will ensure your dishwasher leaves your dishes sparkling clean and renews the life in your dishwasher.

Deep Clean

First, unload your dishwasher and remove the dishwasher racks. Then using a wet sponge apply Quick n Brite Paste Cleaner full strength to the spinning arms, making special note to the holes on the arms. If necessary, with caution you can use needle nose pliers, a toothpick or other small pointy object to manually unclog any holes that are clogged with hard water. You can also manually clean the seals or any area of your dishwasher that needs a little extra TLC.

Maintenance

The second step to cleaning your dishwasher is maintenance. After your deep clean of your dishwasher it is very easy to maintain and make sure hard water does not build back up. Simply add 2 tablespoons of Quick n Brite liquid or paste to your dishwasher load once a week. Add this to your regular load of dishes and help with hard water spotting on your dishes too!

How to Clean Hard Water Stains in Showers

Hard water, calcium, mineral deposits and soap scum are a constant battle in any shower to keep clean and maintained. There are many cleaners on the market that may come close to getting your shower cleaned but they are so full of fumes and chemicals it makes cleaning your shower such a tough chore that it never gets done. Years ago, Quick n Brite developed SCUM OFF, a product made specifically to clean hard water, soap scum and calcium and mineral deposits from your showers. Whether you have glass shower doors, porcelain, tile, marble or vinyl Scum Off is safe on any surface water can touch! Even your brushed nickel faucets and fixtures, stainless steel and grout! With Scum Off, we take the hassle, scrubbing and fumes out of cleaning your shower.

First thing you want to do when using Scum Off is throw away your old rubber gloves and mask you previously used to clean the showers because there are no chemicals or fumes and you won't need them!

  1. Wet your shower down then using a stiff scrub brush (or 0000 steel wool for really tough showers)
  2. Apply Scum Off full strength directly out of the container.
  3. Let it sit on your shower for 30 minutes. During that time Scum Off will break down your soap scum and hard water deposits so you don't have to scrub.
  4. After 30 minutes, reapply Scum Off with your scrub brush then rinse the shower using your shower head.
After your shower is cleaned to maintain your shower add 1TB of Scum Off to a quart of water and spray down your shower after each use. This will prevent the hard water and soap scum from building back up on your shower doors.
