The first step to clean your dentures is removing and rinsing them with warm water. Then, pour a small amount of Quick n Brite into a cup and dip a soft, bristle toothbrush or denture brush into the cleaner. Gently brush the dentures using a circular brushing motion as well as back and forth strokes to clean all the crevices of the dentures. Rinse your dentures under warm water for one minute to remove any remaining cleaner.
You can also mix a Quick n Brite light solution and soak your dentures. Mix 1 teaspoon of Quick n Brite Cleaner to 1 cup of hot water and soak dentures for 10 minutes in the solution. Once you remove the dentures, you can still use a soft bristle brush or denture brush to clean the surface. Then rinse with warm water for one minute following to remove any remaining cleaner.
I didn't know you could use Quick n Bright to clean your teeth. I'll have to let my aunt know. She just got dentures and doesn't know the first thing about cleaning them. I am trying to research it for her so she can take care of them properly. I will have to remind her to deep clean her teeth every once in a while, like you've mentioned. You've taught me so much about dentures, thank you. http://www.amerydenture.com/en/services.html
ReplyDeleteMy grandma is in a similar situation. She's looking to get some dentures, but isn't really sure how to take care of them. I'm glad I found this post before she got the dentures! It's definitely simple enough for her to handle. Hopefully she can find a good denturist soon! Thanks for the comment, Dom! http://www.burkemountaindentureclinic.com/en/about_us.html
DeleteThanks for taking the time to write this. My mother who lives with us just got dentures and I want to make sure we take proper care of them. I have read about how dentures, if left uncleaned, can be a highway for bacteria to get in your mouth.

Sometimes I wish it was this easy to clean my real teeth. It would be nice if I could just take them out and scrub them and rinse them in the sink. I'm sure I'd have less cavities if I had that option. http://www.coleraindenture.com/dentures.html

ReplyDeleteWow, you really make it look really easy. I just found out a couple of days ago that my grandpa wears dentures. I'm sure that he has had them for a while, so he's probably pretty good at cleaning them. I would like to teach him how to make this Quick n Brite solution sometime though. http://www.northgatedentalcentre.ca/dentures.html
ReplyDeleteGary, I agree that it would be much easier to just remove your real teeth and brush them in the sink. Getting into the back corners while brushing can be difficult, and it sometimes is difficult to open your mouth wide. Can the quick n bright solution be used as an alternative to toothpaste? http://www.gaetzavenuedentureclinic.com/en/
ReplyDeleteNot just for cleaning but dental cleaners also helps in removing cement and plaster and also to clean crowns, dentures and other prosthetic materials in an effective way. It ensures thoroughly cleaned crown before performing sterilization process and affixation. You can check here how ultrasonic cleaners are also the helpful tools for cleaning the dentures at home. http://ultrasonic-cleaners.org/top-3-denture-ultrasonic-cleaner-for-you-in-the-market.html
ReplyDeleteI remember watching TV shows and movies as a kid and seeing that people with dentures would put them in a glass of water to clean them. Back then, I didn't know that the water would have had a cleaning solution in it to help clean everything properly. Even with that though, it just seems weird to me that people would be willing to just 'clean their teeth' like that. I know that if i had dentures, i would want to clean them as thoroughly as possible, and this seems like a great way to make that happen for sure.

I think that my biggest question towards cleaning dentures is, do any cleaning agents deteriorate the denture material? It would be super terrible if they decayed as my real teeth did. On top of that, I am sure that dentures are an expensive thing to replace.

ReplyDeleteThis is just what I needed to find! My dad lives with me, and he is a proud denture-wearing man. I noticed the other day that they aren't as white as they once were, and I would love to help him with that. With this solution, I should be able to get them noticeably whiter.

ReplyDeleteCleaning your dentures is every bit as important as cleaning your teeth. Bacteria, plaque, and small food particles on your dentures can result in your dentures being uncomfortable, make your denture adhesive less effective, and can lead to bad breath, mouth sores, and even illness. It is very important to immediately get in the habit of cleaning your dentures every day.
