How to Clean Hard Water from your Showers

Hard water, soap scum, calcium and mineral deposits are some of the hardest things to get off your shower doors and sometimes leave you embarrassed to have people see your bathroom! The good news is there is a product that will take off years of soap scum that you've never been able to get off! Scum Off is a revolutionary new chemical free cleaner that removes soap scum, hard water, calcium and mineral deposits without the backbreaking elbow grease!
  1. Wet down your shower using warm/hot water
  2. Apply Scum Off Full strength directly out of the container using a white webbed sponge (or OOOO steel wool for really bad showers-it's the lightest grade so it won't scratch!)
  3. Let the Scum Off sit for 30 minutes. The patented water softening agents in Scum Off are scrubbing for you to break down the hard water, soap scum and mineral deposits and Scum Off is a concentrated gel so it won't run down your shower door!
  4. After 1/2 hour, come back with your shower head and rinse your shower clean! (You may have to use a wet sponge for areas your shower head won't reach)
  5. Once your shower is clean, take 1 tablespoon of your concentrated gel and dilute it with a quart of water, use this solution as your daily shower spray and replace the containers you are buying for $3-5 in the store for only $0.25!
Have you tried Scum Off on your showers? Let us know if you liked it!

How to remove Skunk Odor from Pets, People and Clothes

Hopefully, most of our bloggers will never need to follow these directions. But for those of us that have had to deal with the powerful smell of skunk odor, you know it is very difficult to get rid of on your animals, yourself or in your house.

PETS/SKIN: If your pet has been sprayed by a skunk first check their eyes to make sure the spray did not get into their eyes. If they are red and puffy, apply eye drops into your pets eyes.

Next, rinse your pet off; if weather permitting, using a garden hose to keep them from transferring the skunk smell inside! Then wash down your pet's fur using the Quick n Brite heavy solution (2/3 cup to 1 gallon of water) or full strength Quick n Brite. Quick n Brite does not sud. If there is an extreme odor, allow the solution to sit for 1 to 2 minutes (if your pet allows that!) There are NO harsh chemicals or fumes to harm your pet or dry out their skin. Rinse your pet off and repeat if necessary.
CARPET/FURNITURE/HOUSE: Apply Quick n Brite heavy solution or full strength using a damp terry cloth towel to affected areas. Wipe off with a dry terry cloth towel. You can also use the Quick n Brite heavy solution in your steam cleaner or hand held machine! Here is a post on using Quick n Brite in your steam cleaner. A great money saver!

How to Clean Black Streaks from RVs

Are you irritated with the black streaks that constantly form down the side of your motorhome from dirt, bird droppings and and other stuff? Quick n Brite is great to remove the black streaks, and you can also use it to prevent the black streaks from coming back!
As general maintenance if you clean the roof of your motorhome or RV before the rainy season, that little chore will go along way in preventing the black streaks from forming.

Use the Quick n Brite heavy solution and a soft brush (the same one you use for the rest of the motorhome should be fine) and apply it to the roof of your RV. Let it sit about 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it clean with a garden hose. Getting rid of the buildup on your roof will dramatically decrease the amount of black streaks that form.

To get rid of the black streaks that have already built up on the sides of your motorhome use the Quick n Brite heavy solution and a soft scrub brush to apply the Quick n Brite to the black streaked areas. Let it sit 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing clean with a garden hose. For stubborn stains that do not come clean with the heavy solution, use Quick n Brite full strength on those spots.

How to Clean your Barbeque Grill

Barbequing is a staple for many people during the summer time and although you may clean your grill with a stiff wire brush after cooking, it still needs a good deep cleaning once or twice throughout the year.

For regular maintenance clean your grill with a stiff wire brush shortly after cooking (while the surface is still warm) to remove any food residue and that will help prolong the life of your grill.

To give your grill a deep clean that requires taking apart various pieces of the grill. First start by disconnecting the gas and removing the propane unit. Then lift out the various layers of the grill (If you have a complicated grill, make sure to organize the pieces as you take them so you can put them back in the same order!) Get all the way down to the burners so you can clean them and make sure nothing is blocking the gas flow!

Next, using a garden hose spray down the barbeque and the grill, then using a stiff wet brush apply Quick n Brite full strength and work it around in a 5 to 6 inch circlular motion. Let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes if you are having trouble removing build up, then rinse the barbeque back off with a garden hose.

Reassemble the barbeque and you're done! Next time you grill, you can enjoy even heat and a great grill taste!

How to Deodorize and Clean your Holding Tank

Holding Tanks in RVs are not something you generally think about needing to be cleaned, that is until you are driving across the country and notice a distinctive odor filling your RV. Swish around with a toilet brush to deodorize the bowl, the release the cleaner into the holding tanks. Add some of the solution to the gray water tank as well.Quick Tip: Make sure and add the solution to your holding tanks prior to driving so it can slosh around while driving and help clean and deodorize!

How to Clean Hard Water Stains in Showers

Hard water, calcium, mineral deposits and soap scum are a constant battle in any shower to keep clean and maintained. There are many cleaners on the market that may come close to getting your shower cleaned but they are so full of fumes and chemicals it makes cleaning your shower such a tough chore that it never gets done. Years ago, Quick n Brite developed SCUM OFF, a product made specifically to clean hard water, soap scum and calcium and mineral deposits from your showers. Whether you have glass shower doors, porcelain, tile, marble or vinyl Scum Off is safe on any surface water can touch! Even your brushed nickel faucets and fixtures, stainless steel and grout! With Scum Off, we take the hassle, scrubbing and fumes out of cleaning your shower.

First thing you want to do when using Scum Off is throw away your old rubber gloves and mask you previously used to clean the showers because there are no chemicals or fumes and you won't need them!

  1. Wet your shower down then using a stiff scrub brush (or 0000 steel wool for really tough showers)
  2. Apply Scum Off full strength directly out of the container.
  3. Let it sit on your shower for 30 minutes. During that time Scum Off will break down your soap scum and hard water deposits so you don't have to scrub.
  4. After 30 minutes, reapply Scum Off with your scrub brush then rinse the shower using your shower head.
After your shower is cleaned to maintain your shower add 1TB of Scum Off to a quart of water and spray down your shower after each use. This will prevent the hard water and soap scum from building back up on your shower doors.

How to Remove Pet Stains and their odors with Quick n Brite

Quick n Brite works great to remove pet stains and their odors from carpets, fabrics, and upholstery. As with any cleaner, first spot check for colorfastness (just in case!) Then using a damp terry cloth towel apply Quick n Brite paste full strength to the pet stain area. Using short 5 to 6 inch motions wipe the terry cloth back and forth until the stained spot lifts. This is the important part, especially with pet stains and odors: Now take a dry terry cloth towel and go back and forth over the spot again and you will notice more stain (and odor!) is lifted from the carpet again. The pet stain and odor will not return because the stain is lifted into your cloth not pushed down into the carpet!

Quick n Brite is guaranteed to remove ANY set in stain exept dried paint, rust and permanant dye!
